To provide a method for producing a solvent-free isocyanate by providing a possibility of reducing the quantity of the solvent required in the flow of dephosgenated isocyanate, in this case, the isocyanate flow must be separated in the post-treatment, that is, by higher phosgene concentration in the solvent totally carried out in the circulating route.
An appropriate amine is reacted with phosgene, condensing the gas mixture thereby obtained, stripping the liquid phase thereby obtained, the solvent so retained in liquid form is returned to the reaction stage of amine and phosgene, and in the case of selectable method, the total quantity of the solvent in the circulating route is constant and the quantity of the solvent for the refining of hydrogen chloride can be increased, in case a further treatment appropriately selected is thus required.
