To provide a method for producing a joined structure which can improve the air-tightness and water-tightness in the joint part between metallic members.
The method for producing a joined structure comprises: a stage where a butted part J1 between the first metal member 1a and the second metal member 1b is subjected to friction stirring from the surface A of the joined structure 1; a stage where the butted part J1 is subjected to friction stirring from the rear face B of the joined structure 1; and a stage where the butted part J1 is coated with a resin R from the side faces C, D of the joined structure 1. In the side faces C, D of the joined structure 1, a non-plasticized region between the plasticized region W1 on the side of the front surface A and the plasticized region W2 on the side of the rear surface side B is coated with the resin R, so as to be sealed.
