Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a lactam in high selectivity from the corresponding cyclic ketone.

This method for producing a lactam comprises reaction of the corresponding cyclic ketone with a nitrogen source and oxygen in the presence of an oxide catalyst, wherein it is characteristic that the concentration of the cyclic ketone to be fed to the reaction system is set at ≤12 mol% based on the total component to be fed to the reaction system.
