To provide a method for producing laurolactam by which the laurolactam is formed in high conversion and high yield without causing precipitation of a catalyst, a catalyst decomposition product or the like in the method for producing the laurolactam by Beckmann's rearrangement reaction of cyclododecanone oxime in a nonpolar solvent by using the catalyst.
The method for producing the laurolactam by carrying out the Beckmann's rearrangement reaction of the cyclododecanone oxime includes using an ether compound as a solvent. In other words, the method for producing the laurolactam includes carrying out the Beckmann's rearrangement reaction of the cyclododecanone oxime in the presence of 2, 4, 6-trichloro-1, 3, 5-triazine by using the ether compound as the solvent.
