Abstract:

To provide a less substituted cellulose ether useful as a base material of a dry syrup having excellent binding property and disintegrability, improved palatability and excellent dispersion stability.

A less substituted cellulose ether and its composition having excellent binding property and disintegrability and improved palatability is produced by grinding a less substituted cellulose ether in wet state to obtain a slurry, and spray-drying the slurry or optionally a mixture obtained by adding a sugar or a sugar alcohol to the slurry.
