Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an epoxy resin from lignin obtained by applying high-temperature heating to woody biomass in the presence of a base, a lignin-derived epoxy resin synthesized by the production method, an epoxy resin composition and a cured product thereof.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for producing an epoxy resin that is obtained by the reaction of lignin obtained by applying heating to woody biomass in the presence of a base, with epihalohydrin. In the method, during the reaction, added is a solvent with a Hildebrand solubility parameter (SP value) of 17.9-26.5 MPa.SELECTED DRAWING: None
