To provide a high yield method for mixing raw materials, which is provided for producing a lithium platinate powder and by which the homogeneity is improved, and to provide a method for producing a lithium platinate powder using the mixed powder obtained by the method for mixing the raw materials.

Platinum oxide and lithium carbonate are used as raw materials. A homogeneous mixed powder of fine particles comprising a platinum oxide powder and a lithium carbonate powder is obtained by mechanically pulverizing and mixing the raw materials in an alcohol, and then removing the alcohol by volatilization. Further, powdery lithium platinate is obtained by heating the obtained mixed powder to synthesize lithium platinate.
