Abstract:

To provide a novel long-chain dicarboxylic acid with low aldehyde content and a method for producing the same.

A method for producing a long-chain dicarboxylic acid with low aldehyde content, comprises separating crude long-chain dicarboxylic acid from a solution containing long-chain dicarboxylic acid and aldehyde and further removing the aldehyde contained in the crude long-chain dicarboxylic acid by using organic solvent. Also, there is provided a long-chain dicarboxylic acid produced by the method.
