To provide a production method by which the modulus of a lyotropic liquid crystal polymer fiber having a multifilament can be further improved by suppressing the occurrence of single fiber breakage.
The method for producing the lyotropic liquid crystal polymer multifilament including a spinning method for producing the multifilament by extruding a dope formed of a lyotropic liquid crystal polymer and an acid solvent, includes drying the lyotropic liquid crystal polymer multifilament without winding the multifilament on a bobbin after the water content is reduced less than 15% until the water content is set to 10% or less, continuously carrying out the heat treatment thereof at a temperature of 400C or higher under tension, and winding the resultant multifilament on the bobbin.
