Abstract:
To provide a magnesium alloy, strength of which is configured to be higher than a material of the same composition, or a method for producing a magnesium alloy.SOLUTION: One embodiment of the present invention relates to a method for producing a magnesium alloy, comprising: a step (a1) of forming cast steel by casting a magnesium alloy at a solidification rate of less than 1000K/sec.; a step (b1) of forming a solution heat treated material by subjecting the cast steel to a solution heat treatment, the magnesium alloy in the cast steel being configured to have a content of a long cycle laminated structure phase therein in a range of 0 vol.% or more to 5 vol.% or less: and a step (c1) of forming an aging-treated material having a hard layer dispersed and precipitated in an hcp magnesium mother phase by subjecting the solution heat treated material to an aging treatment.SELECTED DRAWING: None
