Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metal-carbon fiber composite material, capable of surely removing a sizing agent even though the method is simple, and capable of imparting excellent characteristics to the composite material by improving wettability of the carbon fiber to the metal than ever.
SOLUTION: This method for producing the metal-carbon fiber composite material comprises treating a bundle of carbon fibers with plasma of hydrogen gas or an inert gas, forming a titanium nitride membrane on the surfaces of the carbon fibers, then forming the composite material of the treated carbon fibers with a metal.
