Abstract:

To provide a method for producing compact metallic balls from metal having a melting point of 500 to 1,600°C.

The melt of metal having a melting point of 500 to 1,600°C is jetted and dispersed to produce metallic balls. In this production method, an apparatus provided with a sealable crucible 1 having an orifice at the bottom part, a first heating means provided at the side face of the crucible and a second heating means provided in the vicinity of the orifice 9 is prepared. The metal charged to the inside of the crucible 1 is heated by the first heating means to prepare a melt. This melt is vibrated and electrified in the crucible, and also, gas is injected into the crucible. Before the melt is jetted from the orifice 9, the temperature of the melt is controlled by the second heating means, and the melt is jetted from the orifice, and is dispersed. After that, the melt is solidified to obtain the metallic balls.
