PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a low-molecular weight (meth) acrylate polymer that makes it possible to efficiently produce a low-molecular weight (meth) acrylate polymer, and reduce terminal vinyl groups of the main chain of the polymer without requiring hydrogenation as the necessary step.SOLUTION: A method for producing a (meth) acrylate polymer includes a step of polymerizing a (meth) acrylate in the presence of an alcohol, the alcohol being a C4-8 alcohol.SELECTED DRAWING: None
