Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a (meth)acrylic acid nitroxide polymer, by which the amount of use of hydrogen peroxide can be reduced and a (meth)acrylic acid imine polymer can safely be oxidized at a low cost to produce the (meth)acrylic acid nitroxide polymer at a high nitroxide-producing rate.
The method for producing a (meth)acrylic acid nitroxide polymer includes a process of oxidizing a (meth)acrylic acid imine polymer having repeating units originated from 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl methacrylate with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a tungstenic acid catalyst in an amide solvent.
