Abstract:

To provide a two-stage hydrocracking method of producing a middle cut, and a catalyst for the method, in which a two-stage hydrocracking process has a high degree of conversion as a whole, its cracking reaction stably progresses for a long period of time and also the selectivity of the middle cut is high.

This two-stage hydrocracking method comprises the following processes, and the cracking activity of a catalyst in the precedent stage is higher than that of a catalyst in the subsequent stage: (1) a process where stock oil the precedent stage which comprises a hydrocarbon component having the boiling point of ≥316°C is brought into contact with the catalyst in the precedent stage in the presence of hydrogen to obtain a reaction product in the precedent stage; (2) a process for dividing the reaction product into a heavy component and a light component comprising the objective middle cut; (3) a process where stock oil in the subsequent stage which comprises a part of the heavy component in a reaction product in the subsequent stage mentioned below and the heavy component of the reaction product in the precedent stage is brought into contact with the catalyst in the subsequent stage in the presence of hydrogen to obtain the reaction product in the subsequent stage; and (4) a process for dividing the reaction product in the subsequent stage into the heavy component and the light component comprising the objective middle cut.
