Title:
METHOD FOR PRODUCING MOLTEN IRON USING VERTICAL MELTING FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2014169480
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which a molten iron is produced by charging, as a raw and fuel material, an iron source consisting mainly of ferrous scrap, a coke and a slag-making agent from the furnace top part of a vertical melting furnace, and melting the iron source mainly by the combustion heat of coke, that can reduce the coke use amount by effectively suppressing the gasification of coke.SOLUTION: The problem is solved by forming a raw and fuel material layer formed by one batch charge of a raw and fuel material from a furnace top part such that a raw material layer x consisting of a raw material containing CaO by 5 mass% or more is in contact with a coke layer c in a state of uneven distribution around the furnace wall periphery. By reducing the contact between a raw material layer x and a coke layer c the reactivity of coke is suppressed and thus the gasification of coke is suppressed, thereby the coke use amount can be reduced.
