In this method for producing a monomer from a polyester, which comprises a decomposition process for reacting the polyester with a reaction solvent and recovering a monomer mixture by distillation and distillation process for separating the monomer mixture into components and with which the polyester is monomerized in a high-temperature and high-pressure reaction solvent, the method for producing the monomer from the polyester comprises a filtration process for filtering the distillation residue of the decomposition process and/or the distillation residue of the distillation process to remove inorganic substances.
