To provide a highly profitable method for producing a multilayer paper, by which both the edge portions of each layer separated in the process for producing the multilayer paper can separately efficiently be recovered and then reused.

This method for producing the multilayer paper, comprising sequentially performing (1) a process for making the first surface layer, (2) a process for making at least one middle layer on the first surface layer, and (3) a process for making the second surface layer on the made middle layer, is characterized by disposing a process for cutting off and recovering both the edge portions of each layer made in the processes (1) and (2) after at least the processes (1) and (2).
