To improve the production efficiency of a multilayered structure ceramic filter by reducing the number of calcination steps, to simplify the process of depositing a porous intermediate layer by forming a porous intermediate layer having excellent resistance against collapse in water, uniformity of film thickness and stability of qualities for the maximum pore diameter on the surface of a porous substrate, and to decrease the number of defects in the obtained multilayered structure ceramic filter.
A slurry 5 for the porous intermediate layer containing a polyester-based or vinyl acetate-based first binder is applied on the surface of the porous substrate 1 and dried to obtain a two-layered body 15 having water proof properties. Then, a slurry for a filter film layer is applied on the surface of the two-layered body 15 without calcination and dried, and the obtained three-layered body is calcined.
