To provide a method of producing nonwoven fabric that reduces a volatile organic compound (VOC) and an environmental load substance and is capable of providing nonwoven fabric whose surface and rear face are easily distinguished from each other without increasing the weight of the nonwoven fabric, and to provide the nonwoven fabric.
The method of producing nonwoven fabric in this invention comprises entangling a fiber web with a plurality of needles, and needles with different entanglement performances are mixed in the plurality of needles. Especially, if entanglement performances are made different by combined use of the needles with barbs having different directions, it makes it easier to produce the nonwoven fabric in which fluffing states of fiber on the surface and the rear face are clearly different, so that the surface and the rear face can be easily distinguished. The nonwoven fabric of this invention is produced by the above-mentioned production method.
