Abstract:
To provide a norbornene-based transannular polymer, excellent in heat resistance and film forming capability.
A method of producing a norbornene-based polymer (A) represented by formula (1) includes polymerizing 5-alkylidene norbornene (a) in the presence of Lewis acid (b) and a specific ammonium borate salt (c). (In the formula, R1 represents a 1-3C alkyl group; m is an integer of at least 0; n is an integer of at least 72; m+n is at least 80; n/(m+n) is 0.9-1; and the bonding form of each structural unit can be either a random or block or a combination of these).
