Abstract:
To provide a method for producing optically active ethyl 1-amino-2-ethenylcyclopropane-1-carboxylate.
The method for producing optically active ethyl 1-amino-2-ethenylcyclopropane-1-carboxylate represented by formula (3) or an enantiomer thereof, or an acid addition salt thereof, comprises a process for bringing a mixture comprising (1R, 2S) and (1S, 2R) isomers of ethyl 1-amino-2-ethenylcyclopropane-1-carboxylate into contact with a specific optically active tartranilic acid compound to produce a diastereomer salt mixture, a process for separating one of the diastereomer salts from the other, and a process for bringing the separated one diastereomer salt into contact with an acid or a base to hydrolyze the separated one diastereomer salt.
