Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an optically active propargyl alcohol useful as an intermediate for the synthesis of a medicine.

This optically active propargyl alcohol is produced by asymmetrically reducing propargyl ketone by using a secondary alcohol dehydrogenase or carbonylreductase.
