Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an organic acid in a higher yield in a synthetic reaction of an organic acid using a hydrocarbon and carbon dioxide as raw materials.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an organic acid having 2 to 20 carbon atoms using a hydrocarbon having 1 to 10 carbon atoms and carbon dioxide as raw materials, which comprises: a step X of introducing a gas x containing at least a hydrocarbon having 1 to 10 carbon atoms into a reaction system; and a step Y of introducing a gas y containing at least carbon dioxide into a reaction system, where the molar fraction of the hydrocarbon is 0.2 or more and 1 or less in the gas x, the molar fraction of the carbon dioxide is 0.1 or more and 1 or less in the gas y, the molar fraction of the carbon dioxide contained is higher than the molar fraction of the carbon dioxide in the gas x, and in the step X and step Y, a catalyst is present in the reaction system, the pressure of the reaction system is 3.1 to 7.4 MPA and the introduction times of the gas x and the gas y are 3 seconds or more and 155 seconds or less, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: None
