To provide a method which can produce organooxyterminated organopolysiloxanes at a nearly constant terminal blocking ratio with a terminal blocking ratio of about 85-99% within about one hour.
The method of producing organooxy-terminated organopolysiloxanes represented by formula (A) comprises reacting (1) an organopolysiloxane represented by the formula: HO(R2SiO)nH (wherein R is a monovelent hydrocarbon group; and n is an integer when the viscosity at 25°C comes to 10-100,000 cSt) with (2) an organooxysilane represented by the formula: (R2O)4-a-Si-(R1)a (wherein a is 0, 1 or 2; R1 is a 1-18C monovalent hydrocarbon group; and R2 is a 1-18C organic group) or its partial hydrolyzate in the presence of (3) a tetraalkoxytitanium represented by the formula: Ti(OR3)4 (wherein R3 is an alkyl group).
