To provide a new synthetic method for producing an organosilane of which an aromatic carbon-bonded hydrogen atom is substituted by a silyl group, in a good yield.
This method for producing the organosilane is provided by performing the reaction of (A) a disilane compound expressed by general formula: R13Si-SiR13 [wherein, R1s are each independently the same or different and selected from a 1-20C saturated hydrocarbon, a 1-20C saturated halogenated hydrocarbon, a halogen atom and a 1-20C alkoxy] with (B) an aromatic hydrocarbon or aromatic heterocyclic compound having at least 1 aromatic carbon-bonded hydrogen atom and not having a non-aromatic carbon-carbon unsaturated bond in the presence of (C) an iridium, ruthenium or rhodium complex catalyst to substitute the aromatic carbon atom-bonded hydrogen atom with a silyl group expressed by the general formula: SiR13 (wherein R1 is the same as above).
