Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orifice plate for print head having a plurality of tapered orifice openings and a thicker nozzle plate.
SOLUTION: The method for producing an orifice plate comprises a step for preparing a mandrel 10 having a surface including a conductive region and an insulating region, a step for electroforming a first metal layer 18 while covering the edge part of the conductive region and insulating region of the mandrel and making an orifice opening 20, a step for forming an insulation pattern 24, a step for electroforming a second metal layer 28 and making an orifice opening, and a step for removing the insulation pattern. Alternatively, the method for producing an orifice plate comprises a step for electroplating a first metal layer and making an orifice opening, and a step for electroplating an anisotropic second metal layer at a higher rate in the longitudinal direction than in the lateral direction.
