To provide an ornament having oxide films of aluminum and also having curved parts as the one excellent in esthetic appearance, and to provide a watch provided with the ornament.
The method of producing the ornament comprises: a masking stage (1b) where, in a base material 2 (1a) mainly consisting of Al, and in which oxide films 22 of Al are formed on at least a part in the vicinity of the surface thereof, a part of the surface of each oxide film 22 is covered with a mask 5; an oxide film removal stage (1c) where the base material 2 covered with each mask 5 is subjected to etching treatment, and a part of the oxide films 22 is removed; a forming stage (1d) where the base material 2 freed from a part of the oxide films 22 is formed, and then, curved parts are formed at least on a part thereof; an oxidizing stage (1e) where oxide films 3 are formed on the regions freed from the oxide films 22 in the oxide film removal stage; a coloring stage (1f) where the oxide films 3 are colored; and a stage (1g) where the masks 5 are removed, and sealing treatment is applied to the oxide films 22 and the oxide films 3.
