To provide an industrially advantageous production method in the production of an oxime by an ammoximation reaction of a ketone.
The method for producing an oxime includes a step (1) of oxidizing cumene to give cumene hydroperoxide, a step (2) of carrying out an ammoximation reaction of a ketone, cumene hydroperoxide obtained by the step (1) and ammonia in the presence of a catalyst to give a reaction mixture containing an oxime and 2-phenyl-2-propanol, a step (3) of recovering 2-phenyl-2-propanol having ≤4.0 wt.% of an oxime from the reaction mixture obtained by the step (2), a step (4) of hydrogenating 2-phenyl-2-propanol having ≤4.0 wt.% of an oxime obtained by the step (3) in the presence of a catalyst to give cumene and a step (5) of recycling at least a part of the cumene obtained by the step (4) to the step (1).
