In the method for producing paper having a step for picking up the wet paper from the wire part of the papermaking machine to a press part, a trim suction device is installed on opposite side of a pickup roll and the wet paper end (trim) cut off by a cutter is sucked by the suction device and paper is made without transferring the wet paper end part to the press part.
