Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a perylene derivative improving characteristics of emitting color, driving life and driving voltage of an organic EL device when used as a dopant of the organic EL device.

This method for producing a perylene derivative precursor represented by general formula (3) [wherein, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R101, R102, R201and R202represent each hydrogen or an organic group; and Y represents a bromine atom or an iodine atom] is characterized by reacting a compound represented by general formula (1) with a compound represented by general formula (2) in the presence of a catalyst.
