Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a phenyloxadiazole compound useful as an intermediate for medicines and agrochemicals.
The phenyloxadiazole compound expressed by formula (2) is produced on an industrial scale in high yield at a low cost by reacting a benzamidoxime compound expressed by formula (1) with an orthoformic acid ester in the presence of an alcohol and an acid catalyst. In formula (1), X is hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxyl group, phenyl group, trifluoromethyl group, nitro group, an alkylthio group or a dialkylamino group. In formula (2), X is the same as the one defined above.
