Abstract:
To provide a method for advantageously producing a β-pinene-based polymer with a high molecular weight, especially a high number-average molecular weight, through regulating the cationic (co)polymerization of cationically polymerizable monomer(s) including at least β-pinene.
The method for producing the β-pinene-based polymer by cationic polymerization or cationic copolymerization of cationically polymerizable monomer(s) including at least β-pinene is provided. In this method, a Lewis acid is used as a polymerization catalyst, and an isocyanide compound is used as an electron donor.
