To provide a method for producing a plated body by which the plated body having high corrosion resistance without causing peeling off of a plating layer can be produced with satisfactory workability hardly causing dross in the case of the formation of the plating film.

In the method of producing a plated body, an iron based metallic material is dipped into hot dip metal heated at a high temperature, so that a plating layer is formed on the surface of the iron based metallic material. The iron based metallic material is dipped into pure zinc heated at 430 to 490°C, and is next dipped into a zinc alloy comprising 3 to 10 mass% aluminum, so that the plating layer is formed on the surface of the iron based metallic material.
