Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a polyamide containing the norbornane skeleton excellent in heat resistance, insulation, light resistance and mechanical properties.
The method for producing a polyamide containing the norbornane skeleton includes reacting a norbornanedicarboxylic acid halide derivative having a specific structure and a diamine compound in a polar solvent, wherein the polyamide containing the norbornane skeleton is represented by formula (III) in which ≥60 mol% of the total amount of the norbornanedicarboxylic acid halide derivative is an exo isomer of the norbornanedicarboxylic acid halide derivative. In the formula, X is a divalent organic group; and n is an integer of 1 to 500.
