PURPOSE: To prevent a package from variation of take-up tension according to the take-up position in a spindle drive take-up machine by traversing a spindle itself to which a bobbin is attached according to the take-up speed.
CONSTITUTION: Polyamide fiber Y from a spun yarn mouth piece is intercepted and processed by an air interception nozzle 4 and hot stretched through a yarn path guide 8 by goddy rollers 5, 6 to be taken up into the form of barn with 4,000m/min or more speed through a yarn path guide 8 by a take-up unit 9 performing traverse motion. A drive motor 10 of this take-up unit 9 is controlled to give a constant take-up tension by a control board 13 consisting of a tension detector 7, a power controller 11 and a strength setter 12. And a package 15 itself is traversed by a hydraulic cylinder 14 such that the take-up speed V and traverse speed T have the following relationship; V/4,000≤T≤V/300. Thus, the yarn is not traversed and the take-up tension is not varied with the winding position of package so that phe uniform package can be obtained.
