Abstract:
To provide a method which enables stable production of a polycarbonate resin having a small residual amount of a low molecular weight component, and provide such a polycarbonate resin having a small residual amount of a low molecular weight component.SOLUTION: A method for producing a polycarbonate resin includes a polymerization reaction step (A) of subjecting a dihydroxy compound containing a specific dihydroxy compound and carbonic diester to polycondensation reaction, and a reduction viscosity adjustment step (B) of applying heat to a polycarbonate resin obtained in the step (A) and adjusting a retention rate of reduction viscosity to 95% or less, wherein a carbonic acid diester terminal group concentration in the polycarbonate resin obtained in the step (A) is 10 mol/ton or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
