Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a polyester resin, by which the polyalkylene terephthalate resin free from a foreign taste and a foreign odor and having a high quality can stably be obtained from wastes consisting mainly of the polyalkylene terephthalate.
This method for producing the polyester resin comprises bringing solidwastes consisting mainly of the polyalkylene terephthalate into contact with at least one of alkylene glycol vapor, lower alcohol vapor, and steam to recover components used as the raw materials of the polyalkylene terephthalate in the presence of water, and then obtaining the polyalkylene terephthalate resin.
