Abstract:
To provide a method capable of stably and economically producing a polyether polymer, in which the polymer ends are controlled and reactive functional groups, (terminal hydroxy groups), are richly contained.
In producing the polyether polymer by polymerizing or copolymerizing 50-100 mol% 1,3-dioxolane (A) with 0-50 mol% compound (B) selected from a cyclic ether compound and a cyclic formal compound, the 1,3- dioxolane (A) and compound (B) contain a peroxide and its derivative by the total amount of ≤500 ppm in terms of hydrogen peroxide by weight based on the total amount of the (A) and (B). They are polymerized using a cationic polymerization catalyst.
