Abstract:
To provide a method for efficiently and inexpensively producing polyfluorobenzoquinones by simple operation using an inexpensive raw material.
A polyfluorobenzene represented by general formula (1) {wherein, R1 denotes each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an OR2 (wherein, R2 denotes a 1-5C alkyl group)} is anodized in a mixed solvent of trifluoroacetic acid with a halogenated hydrocarbon. Thereby, the polyfluoro-1,4-benzoquinone represented by general formula (2) {wherein, R1 and R2 are each the same as in general formula (1)} is produced.
