Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polymer aqueous solution which can allow deformation of a container, in which the produced polymer aqueous solution is housed and stored, to be suppressed while suppressing occurrence of coloration or cavitation.SOLUTION: A method for producing the polymer aqueous solution comprises a polymerization step of polymerizing a monomer in a reaction system, in which at least one reductant selected from hypophosphorous acid and the salt thereof and phosphorous acid and the salt thereof, a hydrogen peroxide- containing polymerization initiator and water are contained. The amount of the reductant to be used and that of the polymerization initiator to be used are 2.0-10.0 pts. mass and 0.5-3.0 pts. mass respectively when the monomer of 100 pts. mass is used. The polymerization step is carried out while adding a part or the whole of the reductant and a part or the whole of the polymerization initiator to the reaction system and the addition termination time of the reductant is made later than that of the hydrogen peroxide.SELECTED DRAWING: None
