Abstract:
Bismuth and zinc compounds are used as catalysts in a method for the production of organyloxysilyl-terminated polymers by reacting polymeric diols with isocyanato-functional organyloxysilanes. A method for the production of organyloxysilyl-terminated polymers of formula (I) involves reacting alpha ,omega -dihydroxy-terminated organic polymers of formula (II) with isocyanato-functional silanes of formula (III) in presence of catalyst(s) selected from bismuth and zinc compounds. R 2>3-n(OR 1>) nSi-R-NH-COO-A-O-CONH-R-Si(OR 1>) nR 2>3-n(I) OH-A-OH (II) R 2>3-n(OR 1>) nSi-R-NCO (III) R = optionally substituted 1-12C hydrocarbylene (optionally with in-chain hetero-atoms); R 1>, R 2>= optionally substituted 1-12C hydrocarbyl (optionally with in-chain hetero-atoms); A = optionally substituted hydrocarbylene with at least 6 carbons (optionally with hetero-atoms); n = 1, 2 or 3 An independent claim is also included for a method for the production of crosslinkable materials by reacting (II) with (III) in presence of Bi- and Zn-containing catalysts as above to form polymers (A) (formula (I)) and then mixing (A) with silane condensation catalysts (B) and optionally other substances.
