Abstract:
To provide an excellent method for producing liquid crystal monomer using acryl iodide.
A compound represented by formula (1) (wherein, R1 is H or CH3; R2 is an alkylene group) and a compound represented by the formula (HO)n-A (wherein, A is a mesogen group that may have substitutes; n is an integer of 1-4) are reacted to produce a polymerizable monomer represented by formula (3) [wherein, R1 and R2 are the same as those in the formula (1); and A is the same as that in the formula (HO)n-A].
