Abstract:

To provide a porous ceramic molding for catalytic carriers, which is suitable as the catalytic carrier of a catalytic partial oxidation reaction catalyst or the like, has high heat resistance and is stable over a long period of time.

A method for producing the porous ceramic molding for catalytic carriers comprises a step of firing the molding of a raw material mixture including aluminum source powder, titanium source powder, magnesium source powder and silicon source powder. The content ratio of the aluminum source powder in the raw material mixture in terms of Al2O3 to the titanium source powder in terms of TiO2 is within 35:65 to 45:55 by molar ratio and the ratio of the content of the magnesium source powder in terms of MgO to the total content of the aluminum source powder in terms of Al2O3 and the titanium source powder in terms of TiO2 is within 0.03-0.15 by molar ratio. The content of the silicon source powder is ≤5 mass% of an inorganic component of the raw material mixture. The porous ceramic molding for catalytic carriers is obtained by the method for producing the porous ceramic molding for catalytic carriers.
