To provide a method for producing a port member with which in the case of producing the port member of a cylinder head, molten metal can suitably be made to flow, and in the case of actually applying the port member to a car, the pressure of the air flowing into a hollow passage in the port member is not lost at a dividing point.
In the method for producing the port member 10 by using a mold for casting the port member 10 providing a plurality of divided hollow passages and a core for forming the hollow passage, the producing method comprises a process for disposing an almost triangle pole-like guide member 5, with which the width is widened along the dividing direction of the hollow passage at the position corresponding to the dividing point 11 of the hollow passage formed with the core, together with the core in the mold, and a process for forming the port member 10 inserting the guide member 5 as cast-in by supplying the molten metal into the mold.
