Abstract:
To provide a method for producing pravastatin sodium salt in high yield, from pravastatin obtained by microbial conversion, from compactin.
This method for producing pravastatin sodium salt comprises reacting pravastatin sodium salt with an acid in the presence of an organic solvent, adding sodium alkoxide to an organic solvent solution containing the isolated pravastatin to crystallize the pravastatin as the sodium salt and separating the crystal.
