Abstract:
To provide a novel method capable of producing a primary alcohol compound under relatively mild condition.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method of producing a primary alcohol compound whose carbon number is increased, including a step of generating a homologue of primary alcohol compound represented by the following formula (2) by reacting a primary alcohol compound which is represented by the following formula (1) and whose R is an aromatic group or an aliphatic group with ethanol in a reaction solution containing at least one transition metal nano particles among iridium nano particles or ruthenium nano particles and a base. The transition metal nano-particles are particles generated by heating the transition metal compound in a solvent containing a coordinating organic solvent.SELECTED DRAWING: None
