Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing propylene capable of improving reaction efficiency of the metathesis reaction while reusing a non-reacted material as a source gas.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing propylene comprising: a first step of reacting a source gas including ethylene and butenes in a reactor including metathesis catalysts to obtain a product gas including propylene; a second step of separating at least a fraction (A) including propylene and a fraction (B) including butenes and butanes from the product gas; and a third step of bringing the fraction (B) into contact with a separation membrane that separates butenes from butanes to obtain a fraction (B') having a smaller content ratio of the butanes to the butenes than that of the fraction (B), wherein the fraction (B') is reused in the first step as a part of the source gas.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
