Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cuprous chloride having a high degree of purity by a very simple means and without using a high quality starting material and a high quality reducing agent.
SOLUTION: The method for producing purified cuprous chloride comprises the steps of separating and removing solid matter in an aqueous solution of cuprous chloride acidified with hydrochloric acid obtained by reducing cupric chloride, and depositing the cuprous chloride by mixing with a large amount of water, wherein the aqueous solution used is such that the cuprous chloride does not deposit at a normal temperature (25°C), or wherein the deposited cuprous chloride is washed by an alcohol after the solid-liquid separation, or by combining these steps.
