Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a rack by which the precision of a tooth shape of the rack can be improved and its producing cost and producing time can be reduced.
SOLUTION: A pinion cutting model and a rack blank model are made based on items of a pinion shape and a rack blank shape with a computer 10 constituted with a CAD system. The pinion cutter model is positioned to the rack blank model and a positioned pinion cutter moving locus model 40 is made with the locus obtained by rotating and parallel advancing the positioned pinion cutting model in line with a rack gain, and the rack model is made by cutting the rack blank model with the pinion cutter moving locus model 40. Then, a forming die is formed with a working device for acting based on a three-dimensional data of the rack model and the rack is produced by using the forming die.
